We welcome all to Worship and Fellowship with us at Evergreen United Methodist Church. The Evergreen United Methodist Church was organized in 1839. Worship Service is held every Sunday at 9 AM.
REV. JOE HOOVER
Our services are led by Rev. Joe Hoover. In 1970, he attended Asbury Theological Seminary and graduated in 1973 with a Master of Divinity. While at Asbury, he was ordained a deacon in the Florida Conference. After graduation, Rev. Hoover was appointed to the Shady Grove Circuit in North Florida.
In 1975, he transferred to the Louisiana Annual Conference and was appointed to the Olla-Tullos charge in the Alexandria District. From there, he became an associate minister at First UMC, Monroe. While in Monroe, Rev. Hoover completed a Master of Arts in Evangelism from Scarritt College. From Monroe, he was appointed to Gueydan UMC then to the Jackson- Ethel charge. Rev. Hoover took a sabbatical leave to do graduate work at LSU. his next appointment was to the Boyce-Seiper-Lahey Chapel charge. From there he served Vidalia, Ringgold-Castor and Oak Grove- Pioneer. Rev. Hoover is currently serving David Haas UMC in Bunkie, along with Whites Chapel, and Evergreen UMC.
He is married to Linda H. Hoover and together they have four children and eight grandchildren.
